NESTS MEDIA | Tuapeijat – – Ketua Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) Kabupaten Kepulauan Mentawai, Saudara Halomoan Pardede mengajak Jurnalis yang ada di Mentawai ikut serta membantu mengawasi pelaksanaan Pemilihan Umum (Pemilu) yang berlangsung pada 14 Februari 2024.

Menurut Pardede jurnalis salah satu Lembaga yang bisa membantu KPU mengawasi pelaksanaan Pemilu terutama saat seperti di masa pelaksanaan Kampanye yang dimulai sejak 28 November 2023 lalu sampai 10 Februari 2024.

“Seperti yang kita ketahui bahwa saat ini adalah tahapan kampanye, jadi kami juga berharap bapak/ibu jurnalis berperan aktif untuk mengawasi kegiatan-kegiatan kampanye yang saat ini kampanye tatap muka, maka kami berharap kepada jurnalis untuk melakukan pengawasan supaya pelaksanaan tahapan kampanye berjalan seperti yang kita harapkan”, katanya Pardede pada Rabu, (20/12/2023) di kantor KPU Mentawai.

Ia juga menyebutkan kondisi geografis Kepulaun Mentawai menjadi salah satu kendala para jurnalis untuk melakukan peliputan atau pengawasan di berbagai Kecamatan di wilayah Kabupaten Kepulauan Mentawai secara umum, meski demikian ia percaya bahwa jurnalis tentunya punya banyak link yang untuk berkomunikasi dari Kecamatan lain untuk memantau pelaksanaan kampanye dan Calon Legislatif.

“Kita juga sama-sama ketahui bahwa rekan-rekan jurnalis punya keterbatasan jangkauan melihat kondisi geografis Kepulauan Mentawai yang berbeda-beda, namun kami percaya rekan-rekan jurnalis punya link untuk memantau pelaksanaan kampanye di berbagai Kecamatan atau wilayah lainnya”, ujar Pardede

Tak hanya itu ia mengatakan bahwa para jurnalis merupakan garda terdepan untuk memberikan informasi atau sosialisasi yang ada di KPU sehingga masyarakat bisa mengetahui perkembangan-perkembangan yang terjadi di masa tahapan-tahapan kampanye pemilu 2024. (Str)
